Extension Programme Mountain Regions
You choose Innsbruck as study location due to its environment and are interested in mountains beyond their function as "sport tools"? Then we invite you to explore this study programme.
Mountains cover about a quarter of the earth's surface and are home to over a billion people. Mountain regions provide vital resources such as water for a quarter of the world's population and are hotspots of biodiversity.
Due to its special location in the middle of the Alps, the University of Innsbruck has a long tradition of researching mountain areas and is one of the world's leading mountain research institutions. Comprehensive, interdisciplinary expertise and numerous research infrastructures practically on the doorstep enable a high-quality range of training courses.
