Universität Innsbruck is part of a global network of over 350 partner universities and actively engages in cross-border research and teaching cooperation. As a member of the European University Alliance Aurora, it plays an active role in transnational alliances of higher education institutions that are paving the way towards the universities of the future.
Universität Innsbruck is an open-minded institution that embraces international exchange across all areas of university life and for all members of the university community. The unit for International Affairs serves as the central hub for establishing, fostering, and further developing this culture at the university.
In addition to promoting the internationalization of the University of Innsbruck and establishing and maintaining international collaborations and partnerships, the International Affairs are also responsible for supporting students and staff with all matters related to international activities. We provide advice on study and exchange programs, internships abroad, and financial funding opportunities available to you.

The French Institute in Austria offers Austrian universities access to Culturethèque, a digital platform providing more than 400,000 French-language resources. Students and staff of the University of Innsbruck can register by email to access the platform.

Universität Innsbruck an "AURORA seizmic KIC" beteiligt
Die Universität Innsbruck ist Partnerin des Projekts "AURORA seizmic KIC", das im Rahmen des EIT-HEI Call 2025 gefördert wird. Gemeinsam mit Aurora-Partnern und den Knowledge and Innovation Communities des Europäischen Innovations- und Technologieinstituts soll das Projekt Innovation und Entrepreneurship noch stärker in Forschung, Lehre und Wissenstransfer europäischer Hochschulen verankern.
Seit 50 Jahren: Von New Orleans in die Alpen
Seit 1976 kommen jeden Sommer US-amerikanische Studierende für mehrere Wochen an die Universität Innsbruck. Aus dem Programm ist eine enge Partnerschaft zwischen der Universität Innsbruck und der University of New Orleans entstanden, die 1995 auch in eine Städtepartnerschaft mündete. In dieser Woche kehrten Alumni, Lehrende und Mitarbeitende nach Innsbruck zurück, um Erinnerungen aufleben zu lassen und die Partnerschaft zu feiern.
