Following an appropriate bachelor's degree, this Master's programme enables students not only to specialize further in business law issues, but also to focus on the legal challenges of digitalization or sustainability.
It serves as academic preparation for a career in these areas, be it in business, tax consultancy, the tech sector, administration or NGOs. However, it also qualifies students for a 'traditional' legal career in a law firm, court or notary's office.

Graduates of this program possess highly specialized legal knowledge of both substantive and methodological nature, with selected focuses in business law. They have the latest insights and advanced competencies at the intersections of law and business, law and digitalization, or law and sustainability. Additionally, depending on the chosen specialization, they have fundamental knowledge of selected areas of business administration, digital technologies and content, or ecological, economic, and social sustainability.
This master's program serves to provide advanced scientific professional training for lawyers for activities with specific references to business, digitalization, or sustainability, as well as for traditional legal professions.
The Master's Programme Business, Digitalisation and Sustainability Law qualifies students for entry into traditional legal professions in courts, law firms, notaries, and public administration. It enables graduates to work in fields where interdisciplinary competencies in digitalization, sustainability, or business are required, as well as to take on leadership positions.

This degree programme forms part of the University of Innsbruck’s economics programme. This also includes management, marketing, finance, economics and tourism.
Economic research is centred within the Centre for Economic Research (Research Area: Economy, Politics and Society (EPoS)), one of the eight Research Areas at the University of Innsbruck. Here, economic, organisational, political and social structures and developments are studied from an interdisciplinary perspective.
