The Master's Programme Gender, Culture and Social Change treats gender as a hierarchical structural category that is closely connected to categories of ethnicity and social class in post-national and post-colonial constellations.
In this interfaculty master's programme, students acquire interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary scientific and vocational abilities that can be applied in both basic and empirical research capacities and in various occupational fields (e.g. education, administration, policy) in many different types of institutions (e.g. national and international organizations, NGOs, non-profit organizations, commercial enterprises).
The programme consists of five mandatory modules in which the theories and history of gender relations are treated in close connection to questions of difference and heterogeneity in migration societies. Furthermore, students complete five of nine elective modules that treat economics, culture and language, ethnicity, media, law, norms and globalization in their gender-specific dimensions and in connection with other social structures. An optional practical training course and the master's thesis complete the programme.
The interdisciplinary Master's in Gender, Culture and Social Change offers a broad spectrum of thematic focuses from different disciplines. The programme consists of five compulsory modules in which theories and history of gender relations are dealt with in close connection with questions of difference and heterogeneity in migration societies.
Furthermore, students take five out of nine elective modules in which the aspects of economy, culture and language, ethnicity, media, law and norms as well as globalisation are dealt with in their gender-specific dimension in intersection with other social structures.
Based on systemic application of the gender perspective, the goal of this master's programme is to acquire skills and competences in difference and diversity, in intercultural questions, and in questions of migration, integration and development policy.
These competences can be applied in educational institutions and in the media, in commercial organizations, in NGOs and non-profit organizations, in public administration, and in international organizations.

The Joint Study Master‘s Programme in Digital Society, Social Innovation and Global Citizenship (DIGISOC) enables you to achieve essential expertise in fields of digital transformation, artificial intelligence, data science, cybersecurity and social innovation, ultimately aiming to address global challenges in an increasingly digital world.
This interdisciplinary Master’s Programme was jointly developed, implemented and will be conducted by three European Universities: Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, Italy, Univerzita Palackého v Olomouci, Czech Republic and University of Innsbruck with collaborative international hybrid learning environments/formats and compulsory and elective short-term mobilities.
Educational Sciences (Master)
The goal of the Master’s Degree Programme in Educational Sciences is to deepen the students’ knowledge in the field of education sciences.
Each student may choose to focus theoretically, methodologically and practically on a specific topic within education sciences, for example general education science, gender studies, psychoanalysis, migration studies, etc.
European Ethnology (Master)
The students of this Master’s degree programme gain competencies in the cultural analysis of life styles, every day life practices and complex socio-cultural processes.
They also learn to understand the historical dimensions of contemporary phenomena and discourses, to deconstruct popular identity concepts and their instrumentalisation in media and politics and to present academic findings to the broader public.
