What you need to know

You have the option of structuring files in the web interface. You can find more detailed information on this in the official Nextcloud documentation: https://docs.nextcloud.com/server/latest/user_manual/de/files/index.html

What you need to do

Create a new folder

  1. Click on + New.
  2. Click on New folder.
  3. Insert the folder name.
  4. Click on Create.

Move files/folders

Drag items using drag & drop in the web interface

or

select the Move or Copy option from the three-dot menu.

Favorites

  1. Click on the three-dots menu on the right of the desired file.
  2. Click on Add to favorites.

Favorites are displayed in the Favorites section so you can access them quickly.

File versions and recovery

UNIverse automatically saves previous versions of files.

To restore them:

  1. Click on the three-dots menu on the right of the desired file.
  2. Click on Open details.
  3. Click on Versions.
  4. Select the version you want to restore.

Deleted files are displayed in the Deleted Files section (left menu) and can be restored within a certain retention period.

Quota and large transfers

Your storage quota is displayed at the bottom of the Files page.

For transfers larger than 100 GB, you should split the uploads into smaller parts.

For large data sets, use the sync client instead of browser uploads, as it is more stable.

Advanced tips

  • Search: Use the search bar (top right) to search for files by name or content.
  • Tagging: Assign custom tags for categorization.
  • Comments: Add comments to files to facilitate collaboration. Hover over a file and click the three-dots menu. Then click on Open Details and Activity.
