The evaluation of 2018, which covered the period of 2015 – 2017, assessed all research centres in terms of the four criteria Excellence, Coherence, Third-Party Funds and Internationality. The Research Centre Computer Science did not only exceed its own performance from the years 2012 (base period 2010 – 2011) and 2015 (base period 2012 – 2012), but also scored higher-than-average results compared to the other research centres.

The number of first editions of scientific textbooks, of first publications in scientific trade journals, of invited (international) lectures and talks and the quality of overseen dissertations are all considered strong points of the Research Centre’s Excellence.

Furthermore did the Department of Computer Science score full points and first place on its number and volume of Third-Party Funded Projects, most of them realised in cooperation with an international project partner.
