The research priorities of the department are a sustainable protection against natural hazards, the prevent of damage to settlement areas and infrastructure constructions, the assessment of dynamic actions on protective structures as well as the soil-structure interaction.
Subject of the research projects are protective dams, torrential barriers, rockfall and avalanche protection and the stabilization of mass movements.
