Masters Program Philosophy of Religion

The Department of Christian Philosophy at the University of Innsbruck’s Faculty of Theology is launching a new Masters Program in Philosophy, “Philosophy of Religion”. The starting date is autumn 2022.

The whole course of study may be taken either online via distance-learning, or in-classroom. Studied full-time, the course lasts 4 semesters over 2 years (120 ECTS points). Flexible part-time arrangements are also possible.

All classes will be conducted in English.

Join us at the online session on Mai 25th, at 13:00 CEST (UTC+2) to find out more about the program! You will have the chance to ask questions about the curriculum, admission requirements, what it is like to study in Innsbruck, and much more.

Application
We anticipate that applications for the new Masters program Philosophy of Religion will be possible from June 2022.

Keep me up to date

The Masters program will provide a solid education in theoretical and practical philosophy, both historical and contemporary. Graduates will be empowered to think and act as responsible and autonomous agents in intercultural and interreligious dialogue, equipped with a sensitivity for the plurality of worldviews in a globalized society. The degree will qualify graduates for diverse careers, not least in higher education, the cultural sector, politics, and religious institutions.

The new Masters program includes modules in metaphysics, epistemology, philosophy of language, and more, discussed in light of the big questions in philosophy of religion. You will study six compulsory modules and a selection of elective modules before embarking on your Master's thesis. Course content may vary to accommodate advancements in the field.

All online courses will be administered according to the highest standards of quality for online teaching, providing direct and regular communication in virtual classrooms, and easily accessible learning aids for self-study.

Please note: the provisional programme provided here may change as plans are finalized.
