Summary:

In Innsbruck, the region Campagne Reichenau with a total area of 84,000 m² will be completely redeveloped. In addition to approximately 1,100 new homes, approximately 4.000 m² retail- and service facilities, sports fields and a new ASKÖ house will be built. The groundbreaking ceremony will take place in 2018. For the first time, a so-called "cooperative planning process" based on a city council resolution was performed in Innsbruck, which established the master plan including the development and green spaces of Campagne-area under the leadership and project management of the housing company IIG. Based on this
master plan, a one-stage architectural competition for each individual construction area will be performed. Selected experts forming a planning and steering group will support the project development. It is expected, that by means of a cooperative planning process, the diverse interests can be captured better compared to a conventional procedure. In the planning process both, local residents and neighbors as well as the local clubs, schools and kindergartens will be included. It is intended to develop the Campagne area to be a best practice example for the creation of sustainable and cheap housing in passive house standard. Attention is paid not only to the energy and economic optimization of the building envelope but also on intelligent urban planning sustainable transport infrastructure and mobility services as well as supply and disposal structures in form of a Smart City district. The development will be based on experiences and structures from the Sinfonia EU FP7 project.

Aims:

The CAMPAGNE site aims to be a best-practice example of creating sustainable and affordable passive house living space. For this purpose, sustainable energy, supply and disposal as well as mobility concepts are to be created. Another goal is to increase the cost-efficiency of planning, construction and operation, the development of cost-effective and highly efficient "standard solutions" for passive house construction and building optimization and alignment as well as simulation design.
