Wolfgang Dürw_duer

Associate Professor for Theoretical Physics
PhD 2001, University of Innsbruck

Wolfgang Dür’s research is focused on quantum information theory (QIT) and quantum computation. QIT deals with fundamental aspects and possible practical applications of quantum mechanics. The research themes of the group include the characterization and applications of large-scale quantum systems,  (noisy) quantum metrology, the foundations and applications of (measurement-based) quantum computation and cross connections of QIT to other fields such as statistical mechanics. WD is also taking care of high school teacher education and is interested in didactics of physics. He is developing new concepts to teach modern physics at high school, in particular a QIT approach to quantum mechanics.
