The surgery's catchment area
The maps show the Tauferer Ahrntal-valley in South Tyrol (Italy). The villages Sand in Taufers in the North of Brunico (Puster valley), where Ottenthal worked as a general practitioner, and Prettau, an important medieval mining region, are highlighted. The second map shows the length of the two valley's sections.
