International Economic and Business Studies - Modules and Courses

The Diploma Program in International Economic and Business Studies comprises 240 ECTS credits and is divided into two parts (each four semesters). The program consists of uniform modules, each representing a thematic unit and comprising 7.5 ECTS credits (i.e. 4 semester hours).  


First part of the Diploma Program

The first part of the program takes four semesters with a total of 120 ECTS credits (16 modules). The following modules have to be taken (positive grades in the exams of the introductory study and orientation phase qualifiy students to participate in all other courses offered subsequently to the introductory study and orientation phase):

Second part of the Diploma Program

The second part of the program takes four semesters with a total of 97.5 ECTS credits out of modules (13 modules), and 22.5 ECTS credits for the diploma thesis.

At the beginning of the second part of the study program, students spend a compulsory year abroad at a university in a non-German speaking country where they have to complete a minimum of 7 and a maximum of 8 modules (out of 13 modules).
