The InIASlogoternational Association of Sedimentologists (IAS) has kindly agreed to support KR9 with student travel grants to participating IAS student members. These travel grants are not intended to cover all expenses (i.e. travel, housing, registration) entirely, but rather to help alleviate the overall cost.

IAS student members, who have an active and approved (oral or poster) presentation can apply for the travel grant through their profile on the IAS website. The application requires submitting a letter of motivation, as well as some specific details regarding location and travel distance, affiliation, etc. (template provided on the submission webpage). The deadline for the application is 30th April, 2022 (Central European Time).

Once the deadline has passed, the Office of the Treasurer distributes the available budget among the approved applications. Applicants are personally informed by the Office of the Treasurer about their travel grant. Travel grants will be transferred to the applicants’ bank account after conclusion of the meeting.

Application conditions - Eligibility criteria:

  • Applicants must be IAS student members (i.e. they must have paid their membership dues and uploaded a proof of studentship on their profile page on the IAS website);
  • Applicants can apply for a travel grant twice per calendar year: once for an IAS meeting (IMS or ISC) and once for any other IAS-sponsored meeting;
  • Applicants must have an active and approved (oral or poster) presentation at the meeting.
