for the Master's Programme Psychology for The Academic Year 2017/2018

59 people took part in the admission test for the Bachelor study Psychology on 30th August 2017.

All participants were informed of the results on 12th September 2017 by e-mail.
Those persons who have received a rank order within the 30 places available, can be admitted to the bachelor psychology in the winter semester 2017/2018 and summer semester 2018. Beginning in the winter semester is recommended.
Admission to the program is carried out in the Admission Department of the University of Innsbruck.


Once an applicant submits / a university applicants waived his / her place of study, the / the next highest participant / participant will be notified immediately by e-mail.

Written Examination on Wednesday, 30th August 2017

Phase 2 of the admission procedure - a written test - takes place on August 30th 2017, 10 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.at the University of Innsbruck, HSB 3, Technikerstraße 13b (Location HSB 3).

All applicants with a valid registration confirmation meet at 9:30 a.m. in front of HSB 3. At the registration you have to show a valid photo ID and your registration confirmation. Without these documents you are not allowed to attend the test.  

As soon as all applicants have taken place instructions on the test will be announced. Black pens or ballpoints are allowed only.

Dictionaries, lexica, periodic systems, calculators, highlighters, cell phones, tablets, computers, other electronic equipment or analog or digital watches are not allowed while writing the test. You are allowed to bring something to drink and eat, though.  

The test will take place for 120 minutes (2 hours). Without positive completion of the test admission for the Master's Programme Psychology is not possible. Only 30 applicants will get permission for admission to the Master's Programme Psychology. Please note, that admission is possible only with a positive completion of the admission procedure and a general university entrance qualification.

There is no extra fee for taking the test.

The results of the written test will be announced not later than 3 weeks after the test via e-mail.

The admission procedure for the Master's Programme Psychology has been completed for the academic year 2017/2018, no more late registrations are possible, without any exceptions.

The number of applicants registered by 15th July 2017 was above the number of study places determined in the University of Innsbruck bulletin. This means a written admission test has to be carried out.

Altogether 122 applicants registered for the Master's Programme Psychology from 01st March to 15th July 2017.

Phase 2 of the admission procedure - a written test - takes place on 30th August 2017.

If you are interested in the Master's Programme Psychology it is important to be aware of the following conditions: Each academic year, the University of Innsbruck makes the following number of study places available: 30. In order to obtain one of these places of study, you need to complete the following steps:

Admission Procedure - Workflow

Online-Registration and Payment of the Handling Fee 1st March till 15th July 2017; you will find further information about the payment of the handling fee in the amount of € 50.-- in the University of Innsbruck announcement resp. the available payment terms within the online registration.

  1. Open an LFU:online account. This will give you access to the University of Innsbruck computer system, which you will need for the next steps.
  2. Enter your data into the system, pay the handling fee and register for the Master's Programme Psychology. 
  3. After you have completed the registration you can print your confirmation of registration. 

 Admission test

If there are more applicants than places, an admission test will take place on 30th August 2017. You will receive timely information about the venue and time of the test after the registration deadline.

The admission test is a written test and includes subject-related questions and basic methodological skills equal to Bachelor's level. The duration of the test is about 120 minutes (2 hours) maximum.These fields refer to the following literature (German only):

The results of the admission test will be arranged in descending order, i.e. the best 30 applicants can be admitted for this study programme at the University of Innsbruck  if the general requirements are met according to §§ 63 and following of the Universities Act 2002. Admission to the University of Innsbruck is only possible for the winter semester 2017/2018 or the summer semester 2018. For a later admission you have to pass the admission procedure again.

Please note that you have to be awarded  one of the 30 study places, available for the academic year 2017/2018, and submit an application to the Admission Department to prove that you have competed a relevant bachelor’s degree programme. Please refer to the information on admission policies.

Those persons who have received a rank order within the 30 places available, can be admitted to the master psychology in the winter semester 2016/2017 and summer semester 2017. Beginning in the winter semester is recommended.
