Workflow for the Admission Procedure


If you are interested in the Master's Programme Psychology it is important to be aware of the following conditions: Each academic year, the University of Innsbruck makes the following number of study places available: 30. In order to obtain one of these places of study, you need to complete the following steps:

Admission Procedure - Workflow

Online-Registration and Payment of the Handling Fee 1st March till 15th July 2018; you will find further information about the payment of the handling fee in the amount of € 50.-- in the University of Innsbruck announcement resp. the available payment terms within the online registration.

  1. Open an LFU:online account. This will give you access to the University of Innsbruck computer system, which you will need for the next steps.
  2. Enter your data into the system, pay the handling fee and register for the Master's Programme Psychology. 
  3. After you have completed the registration you can print your confirmation of registration. 

 Admission test

If there are more applicants than places, an admission test will take place on 29th August 2018. You will receive timely information about the venue and time of the test after the registration deadline.

The admission test is a written test and includes subject-related questions and basic methodological skills equal to Bachelor's level. The duration of the test is about 120 minutes (2 hours) maximum.These fields refer to the following literature (German only):

The results of the admission test will be arranged in descending order, i.e. the best 30 applicants can be admitted for this study programme at the University of Innsbruck  if the general requirements are met according to §§ 63 and following of the Universities Act 2002. Admission to the University of Innsbruck is only possible for the winter semester 2018/2019 or the summer semester 2019. For a later admission you have to pass the admission procedure again.

Please note that you have to be awarded  one of the 30 study places, available for the academic year 2018/2019, and submit an application to the Admission Department to prove that you have competed a relevant bachelor’s degree programme. Please refer to the information on admission policies.

 Result of the written admission test for the Master's Programme Psychology for the Academic Year 2017/2018

59 people took part in the admission test for the master study Psychology on 30th August 2017.

All participants were informed of the results on 12th September 2017 by e-mail.
Those persons who have received a rank order within the 30 places available, can be admitted to the master psychology in the winter semester 2017/2018 and summer semester 2018. Beginning in the winter semester is recommended.
Admission to the program is carried out in the Admission Department of the University of Innsbruck.

Once an applicant submits / a university applicants waived his / her place of study, the / the next highest participant / participant will be notified immediately by e-mail.
