Teaching and studying

For many years, the Centre for Eastern European Studies has been involved in organising courses related to Eastern Europe. These include lecture series and seminars, student excursions to Eastern Europe, conversation and crash courses as well as summer schools.

Crash courses

Since 2020, we have been offering interested persons the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of a Slavic language or to get a taste of another Slavic language with our special format of "crash courses" – compact online language courses in three units. Summer School OSTEUROPA

The Summer School OSTEUROPA at the University of Innsbruck offers students the opportunity for exchange across language and national borders. The programme consists of an intensive language course for the target languages Ukrainian, Russian and German, humanities and social science workshops and lectures as well as cultural sightseeing programmes. This gives students an insight into exciting research topics and current research methods from various fields of knowledge, such as literature and media, history, politics and society, linguistics and cultural education.

The Summer School OSTEUROPA is organised by the Centre for Eastern European Studies and the Department of Slavonic Studies at the University of Innsbruck and is funded by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research (BMBWF), represented by the Austrian Agency for Education and Internationalisation (OeAD).
