"Animating Soil Models" - eLearning Project starting in 12/2020
Within the project, I will create animations related to constitutive models (elastoplasticity, hypoplasticty and barodesy). I already use some animations for teaching. The aim of the planned project is to make more animations and to make those animations available for everyone: for you to use them in your courses.
Examples for the animations:
- Keeping one axisymmetric stress state fixed: How does c and φ affect strength predictions ? (in p'-q plane and in principal stress space assuming Mohr-Coulomb and Matsuoka-Nakai as failure surfaces)
- The difference between Matsuoka-Nakai and Mohr-Coulomb is quantified, here for φ = 20°-50° and c = 0. inspired by Griffiths & Huang (2009): doi: 10.1002/nag.810
- How does ν affect the K0-stress path (the stress path under oedometric compression). Here shown for the linear-elastic model, Mohr-Coulomb hexagon for φ = 30°, c = 0 is added. inspired by Zheng, Liu & Li (2005): doi: 10.1002/nme.1406
- More examples are given at the bottom of my website.
So, if you are interested in the project, you can subscribe here. I will keep you informed about the progress and current results related to the project. Please also confirm your email-address afterwards. You are welcome to pass on the link of this webpage to your colleagues.
