International Economic and Business Studies
Content and Structure
The degree programme 'International Economics' comprises 240 ECTS credits and is divided into two study sections of four semesters each. The study is carried out in the form of modules, each module forms a thematic one and comprises 7.5 ECTS credits or 4 semester hours per week.
First stage of study
The first part of the course comprises four semesters with a total of 120 ECTS credits (16 modules). The following modules have to be completed, whereby the positive assessment of the modules in the introductory and orientation phase is a prerequisite for participation in the further modules:

Second stage of study
The second part of the course comprises four semesters with 97.5 ECTS credits from modules (13 modules), and 22.5 ECTS credits for the diploma thesis.
At the beginning of the second stage, students spend a compulsory year abroad at a foreign non-German-speaking university, where they must complete at least 7 and a maximum of 8 of a total of 13 modules (97.5 ECTS credits).
