Welcome to the Department of Mathematics!

As part of the Faculty of Mathematiks, Computer Science and Physics our team is in charge of all aspects of mathematics and its beauty.

If you want to know more about our research, our projects or are interested in a collaboration, have a look at our research groups.

If you are interested in studying mathematics have a look at our programmes.
Our bachelor programme provides a solid foundation in all areas of modern mathematics. The master programme (in English) offers the possibilities of broadening and consolidating your mathematical knowledge as well as a specialisation in one of our areas of research. In the PhD programme the focus is on internationally visible research within one of our research groups.
Finally we are responsible for the technical content of the bachelor and master programmes for teaching mathematics and you might encounter is during your basic mathematics course in many other study programmes.

If you are a highschool student, teacher or simply interested in mathematics we might have an outreach programme that is exactly right for you. Just send us an email if we could tickle your fancy.

If you want to know more or have further question, send us an email, contact the head of department oder refer directly to one of our research groups.
