Covid-19 Health and Safety Measures

Documentation

During the conference, all participants are required to provide a negative test, vaccination card or recovery certificate at admission and need to carry such documentation (tested, vaccinated, recovered) for the duration of the conference as this ensures access to all rooms on campus. Approved Covid-19 tests include (1) a rapid antigen test (not older than 24 hours) or (2) a PCR test (not older than 72 hours) from a recognized testing facility. Gargle and self-tests are not recognized.

There are several testing facilities in the city of Innsbruck. Nearby options include:

  • Kaufhaus Tyrol, Maria-Theresien-Straße 31 (2nd floor):
    Opening hours: Mon-Sat, 9am to 2pm and 2:30pm to 6pm
Individuals without an Austrian health insurance card will have to pay EUR 25,- for an antigen test and EUR 75,- for a PCR test.

Participants’ Covid-19 documentation (tested, vaccinated, recovered) will be verified throughout the days of the conference at the beginning of every day at the Registration Desk. Signed COVID-19 instruction forms must also be handed in there. An individual form is required for each day that you are in attendance at the conference. To avoid long waiting times, participants are asked to bring signed forms and to come early. Additional copies of these forms will be available on site, particularly for participants from out of town.

Upon presentation of the signed COVID-19 instruction form and Covid-19 documentation (tested, recovered, vaccinated), participants will receive colored wristbands, which confirm the daily registration.

Further Measures and Regulations

Regulations in lecture halls will require all participants to only occupy marked seats. In adherence to the physical distance guidelines every other row will remain empty. Please note that there is no coat check option available. Jackets, bags, etc. can only be stowed at your seat. Participants are also asked not to change lectures halls during ongoing panels, but only during official breaks.

The 1-meter distance rule and FFP2 mask requirement applies throughout campus. Participants are asked to bring their own mask and to disinfect their hands regularly. It is important to avoid large accumulations and congestion during arrivals and during breaks and leave traffic areas as quickly as possible.

In Case of Infection

If participants show any signs of COVID-19, they need to stay home and should not participate in any conference-related event. Persons suffering from COVID-19 or persons who receive a positive COVID-19 test are asked to inform the conference organizers (amerikastudien@uibk.ac.at) and the University of Innsbruck (corona@uibk.ac.at, phone: 0512 507 2007) immediately.
