KROnline Seminar

KROnline is an online seminar series, which aims to bridge the gap in sharing research within our community whilst we wait for an opportunity to host KR9 in Innsbruck, Austria, in a physical format. Please note, it is not intended as a replacement for the physical conference and as such we cannot accommodate all the normal activities one would find at a conference (e.g. workshops, coffee breaks etc).

Following a community survey, we have opted for a monthly 2-hour seminar between December 2020 and March 2021. Each session is scheduled at a different time to allow colleagues from different time zones to participate in the seminar series.

Abstracts and posters will be provided in due course.

Joining Instructions:
  • The seminar series will be held on Zoom. Apologies to Chinese colleagues, it was not possible to find a software that works worldwide including China, that has all the functionality needed for this seminar.
  • You can use Zoom on a computer through a web browser.  This lets you use some of Zoom's features without downloading plug-ins or software.  However, the web client has limited features, thus it is better to download the Zoom Client for Meetings app for a better experience (https://zoom.us/download).
  • Presenters can join the meeting from 30 minutes before the start time to test their system and screen sharing. Presenters may also request another time for testing if desired.
  • Listeners can join the meeting from 15 minutes before the start time.
  • The meeting link is https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89407785533. Meeting ID: 894 0778 5533. Passcode: v5izqL. This is the same for all sessions.
  • Upon joining, you will be in a 'waiting room' until the KROnline host lets you in.
  • To speed up the process, please make sure that you are properly identified in your display name with your name and affiliation, e.g. Gina Moseley (Innsbruck). For anyone using aliases, you will be asked to identify yourself by the KROnline host in order to join. This will hopefully prevent the meetings from being spammed by bots.
  • All participants are automatically muted upon entry. Please do not unmute unless requested.
  • If you would like to ask a question following an oral presentation, please write only the word 'question' in the chat. This can be done at any time. Following the presentation, the chairs will ask you to unmute your microphone and turn on your camera so that you can ask your question in person. If you do not have a microphone, you can write it in the chat (please have it prepared in this case so that we are not waiting for you to type).
  • Recording in any format is expressly forbidden. Each presenter will have the option of whether their presentation is recorded, and this will be carried out only by the KROnline host.
  • Following the oral presentations, breakout rooms will be made available for each poster presenter. The breakout rooms will have the name of each presenter. Poster presenters should join their respective room.
  • Participants can move freely between the poster breakout rooms and the main session.
  • If participants require additional breakout rooms for socialising or continuing discussion of the oral presentations, please request this of the KROnline Host in the chat.
