Drawing on select themes, genres, films and directors, this lecture course sets out to explore the diverse interconnections between North American and Eastern European cinema from the early 20th century to the present. In a series of filmic pairings, we will address the linguistic and cultural diversity of Eastern European and North American cinema along with transnational impulses and dimensions of cinema.
