Open positions
Bachelor: Within the course “Bachelorseminar” we offer various topics for Bachelor thesis, which usually include experiments in our laboratories. Details about the Bachelor thesis are presented on the Homepage of the seminar.
Master: We always look for interested master students, to perform experiments among our research fields. If you are interested, please send an e-mail to Stephan.Denifl@uibk.ac.at
PhD:
Vacant PhD position starting in early 2023: We have an open PhD position for a highly motivated student having a master degree in Experimental Physics or Experimental Physical Chemistry and related subjects. In detail, a master thesis (or longer working experience) covering at least one of the following research fields is required: mass spectrometry, collision physics, chemical physics, radiation physics or radiation chemistry.
The three-year position is related to a project about the experimental study of inelastic electron interaction with radiosensitizer molecules. The successful candidate will perform mass spectrometry experiments with different radiosensitizer molecules in the gas phase, at isolated and cluster conditions; see for example the open access article https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-019-10340-8 for a previous study.
The position is coupled to the enrollment into the PhD-programme in physics at the University of Innsbruck (see http://www.uibk.ac.at/studium/angebot/phd-physik/index.html.en and https://www.uibk.ac.at/studium/anmeldung-zulassung/doktoratsstudium/index.html.en for all details).
Advanced skills in written/spoken English are required.
We offer you to work in an international research team with the focus on low-energy electron collisions. The education within the PhD is broad and offers perspectives to find later a job related to physics, physical chemistry, analytical chemistry etc..
The salary after tax is in total ~22.000,- Euro per year. Social insurance is included in the salary.
Interested candidates should contact Assoc. Prof. Stephan Denifl by e-mail (Stephan.Denifl@uibk.ac.at) and submit following documents:
