Migration and Education
The work area deals with inter-cultural pedagogy, discusses trans-cultural education processes as well as migration pedagogy and diversity-aware education. Thematically, we address migration and flight, immigrant population groups, post-migration inter-generational relations, anti-racism, solidarity and urbanity. We investigate what consequences must be drawn for Educational Sciences research and pedagogical practice from the examination of migration and education.
Migration moves and educates
In the teaching and research area Migration and Education, we in particular take a critical position towards approaches in which ethnicised and essentialised positions on questions of migration are represented and develop new, appropriate theoretical ideas and methodological perspectives. That way, we aim to contribute to diversity-aware practice in pedagogical fields of work.
