Canada Awards 2022

The Canadian Studies Centre at the University of Innsbruck announces the following award for young scientists:

 

2 Canada Awards for Young Scientists
amounting to EUR 1,000 each

 

The awards will be granted to outstanding young Innsbruck scientists for an academic thesis (diploma thesis, master’s thesis, dissertation, or other academic paper) completed and published (or submitted to the University) during the past two years.

Two prizes of 1,000 euros each will be awarded in two categories. The categories are divided into:

  1. the thesis must clearly focused on Canada-related topics
  2. the thesis must be the result of a close collaboration with Canadian partners

A merely biographical connection to Canada is not a qualifying factor.

Applicants must provide

  • a copy of the thesis
  • an accompanying letter (max. 1 page A4) which outlines the central research issues and the most important findings; in this letter the Canada relation has to be specified.
  • an assessment by an examiner with expertise in the area of research (he/she should not be the thesis supervisor);
  • a curriculum vitae
  • a list of publications (where relevant)
  • a list of all institutions that have been addressed for funding and the amount of funding already granted to date
  • a form download

These documents must be submitted to the Canadian Studies Centre in digital form (canada.centre@uibk.ac.at).
