  • Stephan P. Leher was born 1956 in Linz on the Danube, Austria. In January 1980 he took at the University of Vienna the degree Doctor medicinae universalis, in 1983 at the Centre Sèvres in Paris a licence of philosophy, in 1987 a Masters degree of theology in Frankfurt and in 1991 in Rome the Doctor theologiae. 1997 habilitation at the University of Vienna in Ethics. Since 1992 he serves on different ethical boards and commissions and is teaching medical ethics at the Medical University of Innsbruck. In 2002 he was appointed Professor for Ethics at  the University of Innsbruck. Since 1997 cooperation with the Javeriana University in Bogotá on Human Rights and Public Health research.
