Result of the written admission test for the Bachelor's Programme Psychology for the Academic Year 2023/2024

743 people took part in the admission test for the Bachelor study Psychology on 22nd August 2023.

All participants were informed of the results on 6th September 2023 via message in the LFU:online.


Those persons who have received a rank order within the 260 places available, can be admitted to the bachelor psychology in the winter semester 2023/2024 and summer semester 2024. Beginning in the winter semester is recommended.

Once an applicant submits / a university applicants waived his / her place of study, the / the next highest participant / participant will be notified immediately by e-mail.


Procedure of the written admission test on Tuesday 22nd August 2023

The admission test will be carried out iwith staggered check-ins in the Olympiaworld Innsbruck.

All applicants with a valid registration confirmation meet between the main entrance and entrance WEST (ground level, NO entrance at the staircases).

The check-in will be spread over 10 entrances. The applicants were divided into groups and were informed about the exact time and entrance for their check-in on August 10th 2023.

At the registration you have to show a valid photo ID and your registration confirmation. Without these documents you are not allowed to attend the test.

Please only bring allowed items to the test (photo ID, regristration confirmation, black pens, something to eat and drink, purse).

All other items (bags, jackets, dictionaries, lexica, periodic systems, calculators, highlighters, cellphones, tablets, computers, other electronic equipment or analog or digital watches) are not allowed for taking the test and should be held at home. Otherwise they have to be placed unter the table in a provided bag. Cellphones must be switched off!

The test will take place for 150 minutes (2 1/2 hours). Without positive completion of the test admission for the Bachelor's Programme Psychology is not possible. Please note, that admission is possible only with a positive completion of the admission procedure and a general university entrance qualification.

The results of the written test will be announced no later than three weeks after the test via e-mail.


Written admission test on 22nd August 2023

The registration for the admission procedure for the Bachelor's Programme Psychologie expired on 15th July 2023. No more late registrations for the academic year 2023/2024 are possible, without any exeptions.
1,174 appilicants have registered.

The number of applicants registered by 15th July 2023 exceeds the number of study places determined in the University of Innsbruck bulletin (260). Therefore, it is necessary to carry out a written admission test.

The written test will take place on 22nd August 2023. Further information on the procedure, safety and hygiene measures, location, time, etc. will be sent to all duly registered applicants via E-mail to their LFU:online accounts by 11st August 2023 at the latest.

For organisational reasons, we kindly ask you to inform us in writing if you will not take part in the admission test for the Bachelor's Programme Psychology at the University of Innsbruck.

All applicants with a valid registration were informed on 18th July 2023 by message via the LFU:online account ("My forms"   "Inbox"). If you have not received a message despide successful registration, please contact aufnahmeverfahren-neu@uibk.ac.at.

If you are interested in the Bachelor's Programme Psychology it is important to be aware of the following conditions: Each academic year, the University of Innsbruck makes the following number of study places available: 260. In order to obtain one of these places of study, you need to complete the following steps:

Online-Registration and Payment of the Handling Fee:

1st March till 15th July 2023; you will find further information about the payment of the handling fee in the amount of € 50.-- in the University of Innsbruck announcement resp. the available payment terms within the online registration.

  1. Registration for the Admission Procedure.
  2. Enter your data into the system, pay the handling fee and register for the Bachelor's Programme Psychology. 
  3. After you have completed the registration you can print your confirmation of registration.  

Admission test

If there are more applicants than places, an admission test will take place on 22td August 2023. You will receive timely information about the venue and time of the test after the registration deadline.

The admission test is a written examination and includes the following components:

  1. To understand simple, subject-related texts in German and English
  2. Ability to formal-analytic thinking 
  3. Ability to gain subject-related knowledge from literature especially for beginners. For this part of the test you have to study certain chapters of the following book (part 1):

Part 2: Psychologie Skript Paris Lodron Universität (updated on April 20th 2023!)

 

The results of the admission test will be arranged in descending order, i.e. the best 260 applicants can be admitted for this study programme at the University of Innsbruck  if the general requirements are met according to §§ 63 and following of the Universities Act 2002. Admission to the University of Innsbruck is only possible for the winter semester 2023/2024 or the summer semester 2024. For a later admission you have to pass the admission procedures again.
