Optional Cultural Program Package

The culture package, which takes place on Saturday (July 13) afternoon and evening, contains a 40-minutes bus ride to the Cistercian monastery of Stams (founded in 1273), a guided tour through the beautiful Baroque church, parts of the monastery, and an exhibition of Emperor Maximilian I (1449-1515), commemorating the peace meeting between the Emperor and the Turkish Sultan that occurred in 1496 in Stams.

At 6 o’clock p.m. the world-famous choir of the Regensburger Domspatzen will give a concert in the church in Stams with works by Tomás Luis de Victoria, Orlando di Lasso, Giovanni P. da Palestrina, Heinrich Schütz, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Anton Bruckner, Jaakko Mäntyjärvi, and others (for a pdf of the complete program click here).

After the concert, the conference dinner at the Orangerie will conclude the official program of the conference.
