Launch of the research farm Imst

The new research farm Imst enables scientists of the University of Innsbruck, for the first time, to run long term experiments in agricultural fields and test new scientific approaches. The close cooperation with the agricultural research unit of the Office of the Provincial Government of Tyrol (Fachbereich Landwirtschaftliches Versuchswesen des Landes Tirol) and the agricultural school of Imst opens new possibilities for joint projects, especially regarding the scientific assessment and characterization of ancient crops.

Besides fundamental research, the research farm Imst will be used for teaching purposes and practical courses for students.

Any questions regarding the research farm Imst (e.g. if you are interested in conducting projects or visiting it with students) should be addressed to a speaker of the mountain agriculture research unit of the University of Innsbruck: (Michael.Traugott@uibk.ac.at; Markus.Schermer@uibk.ac.at)
