Centre for Italian Studies

On the initiative of the Centre for Italian Studies at the University of Innsbruck, the INNcontri cultural association, the Tyrolean Provincial Museums and in cooperation with the Institute for Romance Studies, the Institute for Translation Studies and the municipality of Innsbruck, the “Week of the Italian Language in the World” will be organised in 2022, 17 to 21 October, in Innsbruck

This traditional series of events is supported by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the "Accademia della Crusca" language society and the Italian cultural and diplomatic network, and serves to promote and spread Italian.

The varied programme of events under the motto of “L’italiano e i giovani” includes a panel discussion, a theatre performance and museum tours of the Ferdinandeum museum of the province of the Tyrol and the Tyrolean Folk Art Museum.

All events will be held in Italian.

“CRISI CLIMATICA: MA COME NE PARLI?” / “Climate crisis: How do you speak about it”?

A cross-generational panel discussion on the burning issue of our time, with a focus on communicative strategies and possible conflicts. Protagonists of the debate are Giorgia Pagliuca, young influencer and activist from Italy, and Roland Psenner, experienced natural scientist and emeritus professor of limnology at the University of Innsbruck.

Guided museum tours in Italian with Laura Manfredi
"PARLIAMO L'ITALIANO AL MUSEO"

The cultural mediator and language trainer Laura Manfredi guides visitors in her mother tongue to selected works of art in the Ferdinandeum Museum or the Tyrolean Folk Art Museum. The objects serve as a language stimulus to talk about different topics in Italian up to the present day, including digital messages that the pupils or students create. The focus is on the pleasure of communicating in the foreign language Italian! Duration 1 hour, max. 15 people per group.
