Logo Innsbruck Model United NationsModel United Nations (MUN) are simulated United Nations conferences for students and young academics who are interested in trying on the role of UN diplomat and testing their abilities to negotiate and compromise in intense negotiations with students from around the world. As these simulated conferences often take place in original UN locations (New York, Geneva, Vienna), students acquire valuable practical experience and contacts for potential employment within the context of international relations.

Established in 2012 by dedicated students at the University of Innsbruck, the Innsbruck Model United Nations program not only contributes to the internationalization strategy of the University of Innsbruck but is also an interdisciplinary training program supported by the United Nations Information Service Vienna. Training consists of extracurricular interactive workshops, guest lectures and study trips, all of which allow students to explore the system of the United Nations and international relations. As part of this program, delegations of the University of Innsbruck have been trained for participation at international MUN conferences.
