Travel

Bus transportation between Innsbruck and Obergurgl is included in the conference fee.  If you plan to take the buses but did not sign up for them on your registration, please notify the conference organizers by email.

Buses will depart Innsbruck train station on Sunday at 14:00 and 18:15 and Innsbruck airport at 14:30 and 18:45. There will be a stop at the university Technik campus only if there is sufficient interest.  Buses will depart Obergurgl after lunch on Friday.  The bus ride lasts about 1.5 hours. 

In planning your travel, you may want to consider that lab tours will be available Friday afternoon in Innsbruck.

to Innsbruck:

By air

Flights can be booked directly to Innsbruck.  It may be more convenient and/or cheaper to fly to Munich, then travel to Innsbruck by shuttle bus (€ 48 one way, € 78 roundtrip) or by train (€ 41 each way without discounts).

By train

Schedules and prices can be found on the websites of the Austrian and German railways.

within Innsbruck:

Innsbruck has an extensive network of public buses and trams.  The Innsbruck tourism website is a good source for maps, accomodations, and things to do.

directly to Obergurgl:

It is possible to reach the university center by car, by train to Ötztal and then a bus to Obergurgl, or directly by shuttle bus, i.e., from the Munich airport.  More information can be found on the university center or Obergurgl tourism websites.  Please note that the center is a short but steep walk uphill from the Obergurgl bus terminal.
