Family Service: Reconciliation of work/study and family

Dear students, the team the Family Service of the University of Innsbruck, wish to facilitate the reconciliation of work/study and family and are available to assist you in all matters relating to children, childcare and caring for relatives.

After prior appointment, we advise and inform you about the different forms of childcare, legal matters and financial support for families and caregivers or refer to the appropriate university and non-university institutions. We also provide various childcare services!

Flexible child-care in the SpielRäume

In the SpielRäume children (6 months to 10 years) of students and employees at the University of Innsbruck can be looked after by qualified experts on an hourly basis – e.g. for attending a lecture or seminar.

Annually at the start of the semester  - on the Open Day - interested parents have the opportunity to learn all about the offers provided by the flexible care institution, visit the rooms and get to know the personnel. Moreover, you can register your child(ren) for the SpielRäume on these days and arrange dates for the free familiarisation week.
We are happy that so many of you have visited us with your children on 17 February! The next Open Day will take place on 21 September 2020. It is anticipated that the social department of the ÖH student union will be represented with an information stand. We will announce the details on our homepage in good time.

Holiday care

We organise a week of holiday care during the winter semester break for children of university members from an age of 3-10 years as well as a varied 7-week holiday programme during the summer break. This year’s summer programme takes place from 13 July to 28 August 2020. Registration is possible at the Family Service as of 14 April. More details can be found on our website.

Babysitter exchange

The Family Service offers all members of the University of Innsbruck a Babysitter Exchange, which offers parents a fast and uncomplicated means of contact with babysitters. Students can obtain a list with babysitters on request either by mail or they can pick it up at the Family Service.
