Sebastian Klepsch, PhD student of the Stem Cell Aging Research Group, was granted a Marietta Blau grant. This grant is awarded to highly qualified doctoral candidates by the Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy (BMWFW) and offers financial support for carrying out the abroad part (6-12 months) of a doctoral programme. 

Sebastian is joining the research group of Prof. Ilaria Bellantuono at the University of Sheffield UK, which is widely recognized as one of the most prestigious universities in the world. He will be working on reconstructing the hematopoietic bone marrow niche with the generation of osseous organoids in order to gain more insight in age related pathologies of the bone and its impact on derailed hematopoiesis.
