ISAM has a long tradition and aims at bringing together researchers of all fields of anaerobic microbiology.

Conference scope:

  • Biogas microbiology
  • Rumen microbiology
  • Anaerobic wastewater treatment
  • Cultivation techniques for anaerobes
  • Molecular approaches to analyse anaerobic communities

The symposium will bring interesting keynote talks, invited talks, and poster sessions with lightning presentations. Abstract submission is open now, and will close mid of March 2023!

The ISAM is known for its relaxed and collaborative atmosphere, that promotes lively scientific discussions and networking. A special social event this year shall foster synergies amongst scientists even further. And, of course, the traditional Pétanque tournament will take place.

The ISAM conference series especially encourages PhD students/early career scientists to submit abstracts for oral presentations.

ISAM Conference

The ISAM conference series has a long history with the first meeting taking place over 30 years ago! We are honored to host the 2023 International Symposium on Anaerobic Microbiology in Innsbruck, Austria. All information on this conference can be found on this homepage.
