In memory of A. Univ-Prof. i.R. Josef Nussbaumer

We mourn the loss of our colleague and friend  A. Univ-Prof. i.R. Josef Nussbaumer (Institut für Wirtschaftstheorie, -politik und -geschichte). Like virtually no-one else, Nussi reminded us that a university has to have a social conscience. Next to his scientific work and the outstanding enthusiasm of students that he managed to unleash as an academic teacher, he will be remembered for his enormous effort on behalf of the poor and disadvantaged – both globally and in our neighborhood. Nussi leaves a gap that will remain but he will continue to remind us that his efforts need to continue.

On behalf of the faculty,

Markus Walzl
Dean
