10-110 Course Assessment in a Learning Path Course

Overview

To define the assessment- and passing criteria for a Learning Path Course, you click onto Administration and access theSettings. Passing a course could for example be reaching 100% in the learning progress bar, passing a certain number of course elements, or reaching a certain minimum score. It is enough for the participants to meet one of the defined criteria. The learning progress bar is displayed as a circle atthetop of the course participants’ user interfacein the right-hand corner.

Important Steps

  1. Open your course via Authoring.

  2. Click on Administration and select Settings. The Settings menu opens.

  3. In the Execution tab you can define how the learning progress is calculated:

    • According to the number of course elements: All course elements count the same: If there for example are ten course elements, every Course Element counts as 10%. The actual study time is irrelevant.

    • According to the estimated duration of  the course elements: The estimated study time in each course element will be added up and count as 100% when the learning progress is being calculated.

  4. In the Assessment tab you will find the following course assessment settings:

    • Score Sum: If scores are allocated in assessable course elements (Test, Task, Tally list, …), these scores can be visible to the course participants in addition to the learning progress.

    • Score Average: If scores are allocated in assessable course elements (Test, Task, Tally list…), the average of these scores relative to the amount of course elements can be visible to the course participants in addition to the learning progress.

    • Coach can set “passed” manually: Owners and Coaches can manually pass assessments if this option is chosen. To pass assessments manually, go into Administration, Assessment tool and select the Users tab. Find the user here and select Passed.

    • Learning progress 100%: This selection will make the course count as passed if it has been 100% completed.

    • All course elements passed: Participants must finish all course elements in order to pass the course.

    • Number of course elements passed: Defines the number of course elements that need to be done in order to pass the course.

    • Score reached: Participants need to reach a certain score in the assessable course elements to pass the course.
