Thesis submission and publication

As of 1 November 2023, diploma theses, master's theses, and dissertations of the University of Innsbruck are to be submitted electronically only to the Examination Office. After graduation, the theses will be published in the institutional repository for publications ULB : Dok.

Before submission, please enter the data of your thesis via this web form in order to receive your confirmation of entry. This confirmation and the pdf of your thesis have to be submitted to the examination office responsible for you. The following information sheet provides a description of the procedure as well as contact addresses for questions and problems with the data entry.

Please note that in the case of cumulative theses, the publication of previously published articles is not always permitted. You can find more information here.

As of November 1, 2023, some changes regarding the submission and publication of theses will come into effect (see § 25 para. 7 first sentence, § 26 para. 7 first sentence and § 27 of the "Study Law Regulations" part of the Statutes).

If you submit your academic thesis on or after November 1, 2023 in the Examination Office, the submission and publication are to be electronic only. You can find further details and exceptions on the information website of the Examination Office and in the "Guideline for partial publication of scientific papers in electronic form according to § 27 para. 2 of the "Study Law Regulations" part of the Statutes of the University of Innsbruck".

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your supervisor or the staff of the Examination Office responsible for you.

According to the “Study Law Regulations” § 27 (1), from 1st November 2023, all students of a diploma, master or doctoral program of the University of Innsbruck have to electronically publish their thesis in the repository of the University and State Library of Tyrol.

Dissertations of the Medical University of Innsbruck have to be submitted in printed and electronic versions. Please enter the data of your dissertation in the web form and hand in the pdf together with the confirmation of entry to the office responsible for you. Please indicate there whether you want to make your dissertation available online or not.

The theses will be online as soon as the Digital Services Department receives note of the successful completion of studies from the relevant authority (the Examination Office in particular).
