Welcome to Pollen Warning Service Tyrol

The Alpine Pollen Information and Research Centre of the University of Innsbruck

Your nose is running. Eyes itch: When nature blossoms, a challenging time begins for allergy sufferers year after year. Since 1977, we at the Pollen Warning Service at the Department of Botany at the University of Innsbruck have been Tyrol's competence centre for pollen. Our team of experts does its best every day so that you know what is in flower and when - out in nature and in our laboratory. On this page you will find current pollen reports, information on our research activities as well as ongoing projects and interesting facts about pollen in Tyrol.

What does the Pollen Warning Service Tyrol do?

Collecting, measuring, analysing, evaluating and informing - our tasks are manifold. But the goal is always the same: the findings of our research and the results of our daily work should help those affected in Tyrol to organise their everyday life and leisure time as pain-free as possible. In addition to our daily service for allergy sufferers, we dedicate ourselves to research projects that deal with the complex interplay of global warming, regional characteristics and introduced plant species in the long term. And this in turn helps us to provide pollen sufferers with even more accurate and useful information about pollen concentrations in the air and the exposure to different plant species in the future.
