Comparing Russian as a Foreign Language (RFL) Textbooks for Czech and German-Speaking Learners: Project Presentation

This presentation marks the conclusion of a two-year collaboration between the Faculty of Language, Literature and Culture at the University of Innsbruck and the Faculty of Education at Masaryk University Brno. The project examines how various aspects — such as mediation, irregular verbs, and colloquial Russian — are represented in Russian as a Foreign Language (RFL) textbooks designed for Czech and German-speaking learners at levels A1–B1.

The results will be presented jointly by participants from both universities, followed by a discussion on the implications for textbook design and the teaching of other languages.

We warmly invite all interested colleagues and students to attend the presentation on 29 October 2025, from 14:00 to 15:00, at the University of Innsbruck, LektorInnenzimmer 4O503 (GEIWI, 5th floor).

Organisation und moderation: Magdalena Kaltseis (Department of Slavonic Studies & Department of Subject-Specific Education, University of Innsbruck)
