Post Doc position now open for applications

The SFB welcomes applications for a 40-hour Post Doc position, starting on September 1, 2018.

The position is available as of September 1, 2018 or later and will last until February 28, 2021. In case the overall evaluation of the project and the candidate is positive, the position will be extended for another 4 years.


The SFB is funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) and will run for 4+4 years. It is a joint research project including the project part leaders Loukas Balafoutas, Jürgen Huber, Rudolf Kerschbamer, Michael Kirchler, and Markus Walzl. The project’s aim is to analyze key determinants of individual behavior and market performance in credence goods markets with a variety of methods, combining theoretical work, laboratory experiments and field experiments. The research group consists of more than 30 scholars from economics and finance, thus bridging research across both fields.


Details and requirements for the Post Doc position
− PhD (or close to completion) and excellent publications (or high profile working papers) in one of the following fields: (applied) Game Theory, Experimental Economics, or Behavioral Economics.
− Excellent knowledge in English (knowledge in German is not required), teamwork capabilities, ability to work independently and communication skills.
− Gross salary per month (14 times a year): EUR 3,711.10 with annual increases, no teaching obligation.
