The Society of Media Studies holds an annual conference to discuss current topics in the field and theoretical and methodological developments in media studies. In addition to the presentation of research results, the conference offers opportunities for personal exchange and discussion of questions of science policy. The annual conference 2021 on the subject of "KNOWLEDGE ECOLOGY" is being organized by the Department for Media, Society and Communication at the Leopold-Franzens Universität Innsbruck.

Depending on the pandemic situation, the annual conference will take place in Innsbruck physically or virtually. A decision will be announced as soon as possible.

ECPR General Conference

The ECPR General Conference is the largest annual political science meeting in Europe, bringing together more than 2,000 scientists from all over the world at all stages of their careers in one place. With around 500 panels in around 70 sections, the academic program covers the entire breadth of political science as a subject. The General Conference is by far the largest platform for high-profile discussions, interdisciplinary debates and innovative thinking in political science. The ECPR General Conferences 2020 and 2021 were and will be held purely virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, the Department of Political Science at the Universität Innsbruck is pleased that the European Consortium for Political Research (ECPR) has agreed to host the 2022 conference in Innsbruck.
