Special rates for USI and isi courses

Description

University of Innsbruck employees pay reduced rates at both the University Sports Center (USI), which offers approximately 1,000 sport courses per year, and at the International Language Center (isi), which offers language courses on different levels in 20 foreign languages.

At the USI, discounts for employees, compared to external attendees, for whole-semester courses usually amount 25% (exempt divisions such as climbing, strength and fitness courses). The different tariffs can be found on the website of the USI (https://orawww.uibk.ac.at/usi/page).

At the isi, employees are charged € 30 per weekly semester hour. They can use the language learning partner exchange, the so-called "study buddy program", for free (https://www.uibk.ac.at/isi/index.html.en).

University rental apartments

Description

The Austrian Federal Ministry of Science and Research controls a number of rental apartments financed by taxes. As a consequence, the Ministry can procure rental apartments in Innsbruck and Völs for employees of the University of Innsbruck and the Medical University of Innsbruck at very favorable conditions.

Applicants need to complete the "Application Form for University Rental Apartments" truthfully and accurately and submit it to the respective Works Council. An "Apartment Committee", comprising an equal number of representatives from the University of Innsbruck and the Medical University of Innsbruck, decides which of the applications are endorsed. The decisions are forwarded to the responsible ministry, which normally follows the recommendations of the committee.
