Die Arbeitsgruppe befasst sich mit Fragen aus den Forschungsbereichen Bodenkunde und Landschaftsökologie. Die Untersuchungen finden vor allem in den Alpen statt, aber auch im Alpenvorland, in urbanen Räumen, in den Karpaten, auf Grönland und in Bolivien. Einige der Themen beinhalten angewandte Aspekte. Zudem bestehen Kooperationen mit KollegInnen der Fachbereiche Entwicklungsforschung, Raumplanung, Geschichtswissenschaft, Archäologie, Mineralogie, Geologie, Geotechnik, Ökologie, Botanik, Mikrobiologie und Bodenzoologie.

  • ERODYN: Terrestrial laser scanning of eroded areas A grassland slope has been surveyed with a terrestrial laser scanner (TLS) to map eroded areas and their morphology. The detailed terrain data from TLS will also be integrated with multi-/hyperspectral data from an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and botanical surveys from field plots to map and analyse vegetation types.
