Graduates possess highly specialized knowledge in the areas of finance markets, financial institutions and investment and finance decisions in companies. They are able to apply their competences in these core areas and at the intersections to other areas of economics and business administration by formulating and substantiating arguments scientifically and by solving problems innovatively.

The Master's Programme Banking and Finance is intended to provide students with the abilities to fulfill demanding tasks, particularly in companies in the finance sector.

The content of the master's programme focuses on both necessary theoretical fundamentals and on the conditions for the implementation and applicability of scientific knowledge. The degree program is held in English.

Students of the master's program acquire the following skills:

  • Solid knowledge of quantitative methods for financial issues
  • The ability to treat scientific issues independently
  • The ability to apply scientific knowledge to practical problems
  • Reflective consideration and application of acquired abilities

The master's programme also provides the basis to pursue an academic path through continuation to a doctoral program.

The Master's Programme in Banking and Finance qualifies graduates for positions in companies in the finance sector, e.g. banks, financial services companies and insurance companies. The specific competences of graduates are also essential for finance departments of large companies.

The Joint Study Master‘s Programme in Digital Society, Social Innovation and Global Citizenship (DIGISOC) enables you to achieve essential expertise in fields of digital transformation, artificial intelligence, data science, cybersecurity and social innovation, ultimately aiming to address global challenges in an increasingly digital world.

This interdisciplinary Master’s Programme was jointly developed, implemented and will be conducted by three European Universities: Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, Italy, Univerzita Palackého v Olomouci, Czech Republic and University of Innsbruck with collaborative international hybrid learning environments/formats and compulsory and elective short-term mobilities.

Exper­i­men­tal and Empir­i­cal Eco­nomics (Master)

In the Master's Degree Programme in Experimental and Empirical Economics students develop academic thinking required for a high-profile career in research, business, finance and the public sector.

The programme is offered by the Faculty of Economics and Statistics, one of the leading European institutions for empirical economics and data science as well as behavioral and experimental economics. Research groups critically examine the decisions of individuals, strategies of firms and the policies of governments to understand and challenge the paradigms in economics and economic policy.

Gen­der, Cul­ture and So­cial Change (Master)

The interfaculty Master's programme Gender, Culture and Social Change analyses gender as a hierarchising structural category in close connection with the categories of ethnicity and class in post-national and -colonial constellations. Students acquire interdisciplinary academic and career-oriented competences.

Inter­na­tional Man­age­ment (Master)

The Master's Programme International Management prepares students for international careers in business, NGOs, and international organisations. The curriculum provides company, institutional, and NGO perspectives, and combines a blend of economics and management theory, with a focus on modern quantitative and qualitative research methods.

Apart from advanced course work, students also deepen their proficiency in at least two foreign languages, take one semester abroad, complete an academic thesis, and conduct a substantial project with a multinational company or international organisation.

Mar­ket­ing and Brand­ing (Master)

The Master’s programme in Marketing and Branding offers students advanced insights into marketing and branding theory and practice with a focus on its strategic grounding, digital change, future trends, sustain­ability and responsible managerial decision-making and behavior.

The programme is inter­nationally oriented and values openness and diversity, creativity and reflexivity. Graduates will enjoy a practice-oriented education, firmly based on current academic knowledge, and develop managerial and social competences, which will enable them to make well-reflected, evidence-based decisions in complex organizational environ­ments and markets.
