Institute of Analytical Chemistry and Radiochemistry
Univ.-Prof.Mag.Dr. Christian Huck from the Institute of Analytical Chemistry and Radiochemistry develops new analytical methods based on vibrational spectroscopy (infrared, Raman) and chromatography (LC, CE, SPE). Based on this, qualitative (classification) and quantitative methods are established supported by chemometric mutlivariate evaluation methods.
The main goal of the research of Gabriele is the development of quantitative models which can provide a more realistic prediction of water availability and quality. This is a challenging field of research since it requires interdisciplinary knowledge such as hydrology, hydrogeology, (bio)geochemistry, geology, fluid mechanics, physics, mathematics and statistics. In the framework of BioApp, he will focus on modelling reactive solute transport in porous media.
Ursula Peintner is professor at the Institute of Microbiology. Her research interests are soil fungal communities, mutualistic interactions of fungi and fungal systematics and phylogeny.
