Projects

The BIPESCO Team Innsbruck is an internationally active group for the control of soil pests (e.g. phylloxera, cockchafer, garden leaf beetle, June beetle, wireworm, weevil and corn rootworm) and ticks with mycoinsecticides such as Beauveria spp. and Metarhizium spp. as well as diseases (e.g. ESCA, vine root rot) with mycoparasitic fungi such as Clonostachys spp. and Trichoderma spp.

The BIPESCO group's research topics include: Soil microbiology, structure elucidation of secondary metabolites, degradation of xenobiotics and agrochemicals, biosorption of metals, plant diseases and biological pest control, risk assessment and registration, utilization of metabolites and natural products as crop protection agents - topics that are of great importance for the current projects. The BIPESCO team also has extensive experience in applied agriculture, viticulture and pest control.

The BIPESCO group is part of the Mycology Tyrol network. Our excellent credentials as a mycopathology group have enabled us to work with many of the leading scientists in the field.
