Advances on salary

Description

Employees of the University of Innsbruck can receive an interest-free loan of up to € 7,300 as an advance on their salary. Advances on salary (e.g. for purchasing or renovating homes or apartments) are demand-oriented allotted several times per year and must be refunded.

Special rates for USI sports classes

Description

The University Sports Centre (USI) offers approximately 1.000 in- and outdoor sports classes per year. In addition, there is a holiday and competition program.

The discount that employees of the University receive in comparison to external attendees usually amounts to 25 % of the original price (exceptions apply to some specific classes, such as climbing, strength and fitness classes). The fare of each class is stated on the Website of the USI.

Description

Reduced telephone charges

Description

A co-operation agreement with the mobile communication provider T-Mobile makes it possible for employees to pay reduced charges for their private mobile phone calls.

Affordable Parking

Description

The University of Innsbruck operates parking areas at its Innrain location and at the Faculty of Technical Sciences ("Technik"). At other university locations - e.g. SoWi, Institute of Botany ("Botanik") or the Center for Ancient Cultures at Langer Weg, Schöpfstraße, Rennweg, Josef-Hirn-Straße, Karl-Schönherr-Straße and Maximilianstraße – the University has rented a limited number of parking spaces. Employees working at these locations can use the parking spaces at a uniform rate of € 25/month.

At locations where the number of parking spaces is very limited or where the capacity is exhausted (e.g. at the SoWi), these parking spaces are allotted in the following way: if a parking space becomes vacant, the next applicant receives the parking space. The sequence is determined by the application date.

Use of the University Library

Description

The University and Regional Library of Tyrol offers all employees of the University a big amount of e-books, e-journals and data bases of all fields and publishing houses as well as access to a number of printed media of further information sources that are accessible on the search portal BibSearch.

In the scope of the borrowing of printed media, employees enjoy a special status in terms of the lending period of up to 1 year. The application for a library badge or change to the status of “University employee” can be found in VIS:online (“Persönliche Daten / Meine Formulare”).

In „Onleihe e-book tirol“ there furthermore is a broad range of scientific digital media such as eBooks, ePapers, eMusic, eAudios und eVideos accessible free of charge.

University rental apartments

Description

The rectors of LFUI and MUI jointly have the opportunity to allocate publicly financed rental apartments owned by non-profit housing associations to employees of their universities. The application for the allocation of a "university rented apartment" can be submitted to the secretariat of the Works council for the academic staff of the University of Innsbruck.

If an apartment is to be rented, the rectors of the University of Innsbruck and the Medical University of Innsbruck decide jointly on the allocation of the apartment after receiving a proposal from the joint housing committee. The housing committee consists of elected representatives of the Works councils of both universities.
