Open Access publishing in De Gruyter journals

 

Austrian Science Fund-articles: informations below


Since 2019, university members with active employment contracts or students of the University of Innsbruck and the Medical University of Innsbruck can publish open access free of charge in around 350 De Gruyter hybrid journals and have access to around 350 scientific journals.


Which journals can scientists of the universities publish in?

You can publish open access in 350 De Gruyter hybrid journals. You can find a list of De Gruyter hybrid journals here.


Who can publish open access?

Eligible are authors, who

  • are corresponding authors of the article
  • are university members with active employment contracts or students of the University of Innsbruck or the Medical University of Innsbruck
  • whose articles were accepted by a hybrid journal
  • are publishing a primary research article or a review

ATTENTION: It is not permitted to retrospectively change the corresponding author after peer review.


Procedure/Verification Process:

The University and Regional Library of Tyrol receives a monthly report from De Gruyter with accepted articles from the University of Innsbruck and the Medical University of Innsbruck. Based on this report, we will contact the authors eligible for funding and send them a form to approve the allocation of the CC-BY licence. If the author agrees to the Open Access option, please send the form directly to the publisher (openaccessproduction@degruyter.com).

 

Special agreement for Gold OA journals: In addition, there is a discount of 15% per article for publishing in Gold OA journals by De Gruyter.


FWF articles in this agreement [valid from 2024]:

Articles from FWF-funded projects published in journals that are part of this agreement can be published open access free of charge until the end of 2027 at the latest.

Please note that the criteria listed above must be met. In addition, the following FWF requirements must be complied with:

  • the article must be published with a CC BY licence
  • the acknowledgement must contain the following text:

or for German-language publications:
