RESI Network Innsbruck and p2i Network
Supporting researchers from the University of Innsbruck on their career path inside and outside from academia.
The number of academic positions at universities has grown over the past years. However, tenure positions have not increased accordingly and long-term academic careers are now the exceptions, not the norm. The RESI network enables early career researchers (advanced PhDs and Post Docs) to engage in a range of activities matched to their interests and needs. Network members are connected with other researchers, industrial contacts, entrepreneurs, and academics with experience in founding their own company.
With the workshops and meetings organized by the RESI network researchers get the chance to enhance their entrepreneurial mindset, gain a key set of personal and professional skills for their careers, and meet likeminded researchers from University of Innsbruck.

Partners
RESI is part of the Postdocs2Innovators (p2i) network, which was founded in 2016 and brings together leading European universities. The network was established in response to a major development in academia: while the number of postdoctoral positions continues to grow, permanent academic positions remain limited.
The aim of p2i is to open up new perspectives for researchers by providing education at the very early stages of the entrepreneurial life cycle. A central focus of the network is to foster an entrepreneurial mindset among researchers and to develop essential know-how for turning ideas into tangible, positive outcomes. Through this approach, p2i supports researchers in preparing for a wide range of career paths, both within and beyond academia.
p2i offers a variety of activities, including training sessions, international workshops, and mentoring opportunities. These formats are designed to equip researchers with transferable skills and entrepreneurial thinking that are crucial for long-term success, regardless of their chosen career trajectory.
All researchers who are part of the RESI network are eligible to participate in p2i events. Some of these events take place at partner universities across Europe.
