- Tectonics, particularly the tectono-metamorphic evolution of the Eastern Alps.
- Interplay of chemical and mechanical processes across scales, influence of crystal plastic deformation on element mobility and reaction induced strain weakening/hardening.
- Fluid-rock interaction, dissolution-precipitation induced mineral replacement structures.
